The food was excellent and the service staff was very friendly.
Good food, decent prices
We have been there several times now. The food and service have been exceptional each time!
Small restaurant, been there for quite a while. Has a very loyal customer base. I've never been awed by their food. It'll fill ya, but it won't wow ya.
Great family place. Good food, welcoming staff, never disappoints.
I've never had a bad meal here. The staff are all friendly and make you feel welcome walking in the door.
Little long if a wait for seats but I guess it's worth it food was good , coffee was hot
They are happy to accommodate special requests.
Great food and service, they always make sure you have enough coffee.
Always good food with a wider variety.
Small and cozy place. Food has always been good. Staff is always friendly.
Great local place. Will go again.
Ashton's breakfast menu is diverse, food is delicious, and staff treats customers like family. I'm looking forward to the next visit!
This little diner is a must visit if you want a good breakfast or meal at any time of the day. The memebers of the local VFW post frequent this place and give it a ringing endorsement. My family and I eat here a few times a month because of the good service, the top notch food, and the company. The staff is mostly Latin, but all of them carry a green card and are hardworking even when thing get busy.
Brought my family here for the new year's brunch and everything was excellent, including staff! They had an omelette station manned by a real pro, the best potatoes in town, prime rib, and even a chocolate fountain! Guess I'll be starting my diet on the 2nd...
Great food, reasonably priced. Fresh and flavorful Will definitely return.
Love it... nice food... nice place..
Good food, good service, the place the locals go.
I have only been there for brunch but it is a great place to eat and the atmosphere is very nice.
We had the Sunday breakfast buffet. Everything we tried was good. We especially enjoyed the chocolate fountain!
I had a fantastic breakfast at Ashton Family Restaurant. I ordered the Huevos Ranchero and it was amazing!
Great food! And great price, very diverse and service was fast. Enjoyed my time there. You want something different, then this is the place for you!
Kinda tight but worth it for the food. The best brunch in Manassas, for sure. Be ready for a reasonable (10-20 min) wait to get a table, but the news is out about this place so it's understandable that it's always full.
Good home cooking style restaurant. Excellent breakfast, really great waitress. Not horribly expensive. Busy place, well deserved. Will be back again!
Food is a mouthful of YUM! A quaint, very clean and friendly place.
Food was excellent! Quick and friendly service. Restaurant was clean.
Quality comfort food at a great price.
The place was packed on Sunday, 9am, so the 6 of us were a little tight in a half booth/half regular table. Service was ok, and the food was pretty darn good. The omelette & eggs benedict were great! I'd go back!
Coconut French toast fried plantains with caramel sauce, yum yum. Beer with breakfast.
Good food and atmosphere
Had breakfast there and was impressed. The waiter and staff seem to have a flair that is comparable to any 5 star restaurant. If you want to eat somewhere with a comfortable setting and easy on the wallet. I recommend this place definitely.
Crowded, but service was fast and food was excellent. I'll be returning often.
Wonderful and Paula is a WONDERFUL waitress!!!
We tried Ashton for the first time today and we really enjoyed it. The restaurant is clean. The staff is friendly. The food is good, and reasonably priced. We got the brunch which was very good. Moderate selection of the usual breakfast items plus a short order cook and dessert bar. We'll be back, and would highly recommend.
This was my first visit but not my last. The food and service were excellent.
Great food & staff if you can find a parking spot close.
Their food is always good
Good food and great & friendly service. Thank you Paula.
Decent breakfast very busy place.
The servers are so friendly. Food is always tasty and served hot. If you want to make a substitute, no problem. I only wish that they offered breakfast all day as its delicious.
Sad we didn't find this place sooner. Great neighborhood gem. Diverse menu and clientele. Friendly. Clean. Great food.
Good food and good small business diner atmosphere
This place is a jewel. To be honest it doesn't look like much from the outside but believe me you won't be disappointed. The range of dishes is so wide, from Latin American style to greek, american, and others. No matter what you get is going to be good. Service is very good too.
Awesome food, I mainly go for breakfast. Their breakfast burrito is pretty good.
Tried this place out for lunch. We ordered chix souvlaki & moussaka (both delicious) & added the salad bar for just $2.99 extra: well-worth the add on fee: fresh & appealing offerings. Service was excellent too. Already added it to my "Favorites" list... Will def be back to try out other American, Mexican, & Greek menu options! Thank you, Gracias, & Efcharisto Ashton Avenue Family Restaurant!
Far better food them you'd expect from a neighborhood eatery.
Quick service and good food, plus kids eat free on Mondays!
Great place for families. Very varied menu.
Say no more we love this place any time of the day
One of the best restaurants in town. Great fresh food, friendly staff, clean and good prices.
Excellent food and great service!!
After looking at all the reviews about breakfast I was a little curious about the lunch and dinner menu. Not any more. We had dinner last night and couldn't have been more pleased. Our waiter "with flair" was obviously new and young and it was refreshing to see the other staff have his back and support, something you rarely see in a tip based economy like restaurant service. The menu has a lot of choices but it's not overwhelming. We chose Italian, but they offer Greek, American, and Mexican cuisine as well. Come hungry the portions are generous. I had Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo and boyfriend had Lasagna and we will be dining on the leftovers later this weekend. We are putting Ashton Family Restaurant in our dining out rotation. Thank you guys for a great night.
Good selection on the menu. Good food and friendly service.
Breakfast or Lunch.. great service and good food at diner fare
One of my local go too try the Gyro best in northern VA
Great breakfast spot! Love the enchiladas breakfast with homemade refried beans. Lunch is OK, but breakfast is definitely the star.
Breakfast was absolutely awesome and delicious! Really impressed because it’s hard to find a restaurant that can make a good sausage gravy and biscuits. Would definitely recommend
Very clean, excellent food and excellent service. Highly recommended.
Excellent food quality and friendly staff! Keep up the quality customer service.
Good food, friendly staff, new outdoor seating.
Was expecting more after seeing the high reviews. Nothing over the top and food was okay. Customer service was great though.
Great food! Looking forward to the Sunday All you can eat. Again, great food!
We spent a late morning at Ashton Ave Diner, at their Fathers Day brunch. The food was great, and so was the service. They always have great food and service.
This place is a hidden treasure. Their Gyro is by far the best I've had. My husband had the steak tacos and they were absolutely delicious. There has not been a meal I have been disappointed in. The service is top quality.
The brunch is so good. I highly recommend this place.
Very family friendly environment. Very personal and friendly to all. Service with a smile and locally operated. Food is always hand cooked using fresh ingredients.
Cozy small hometown diner-like restaurant. Popular. Large menu. Great plantains and variety of food. Not a lot of seating, somewhat crowded seating and often a wait especially on Sundays. Very good food, medium prices. Decent service.
Awesome food! I have been eating here for years. Never disappointed. The lasagna is always great!
Locally owned. Good food. Good price. Very good service.
The food was great and fresh. The waitress was pleasant, hard working and funny. I will definitely go back.
It where Manassas eats breakfast on the weekend or on a morning before work with friends or neighbors. What I like is the food is of consistent quality. If you have a favorite it is certain that if you order it again it is the same dish you remembered. Friendly staff! Sorry to say I have never been for lunch or dinner...we always say we should sometime.
I haven't been in a few months, but it's constantly good. It's one of those places that I never think of, but when someone says it I'm in. Service is always friendly and prompt. Food is constantly good, everything I've tried has been good.
I usually get nervous when a restaurant claims 4 or 5 cuisines but I was pleasantly surprised with what we got. The Patty melt and my son's chocolate french toast was perfect for a quick bite to eat. I love supporting family owned businesses and will be happy to return soon.
Food was great. Special Valentine's day menu had good selections, but no dinner salads or the option to have just a salad. Servers were quick and always roaming.
Dropped a star due to slow food service. Tables that came in after ours were getting their meals before us. Still, the wait was worth it as everything was fantastic.
Amazing good, and superior service. I actually prefer going here over most of the 4 and 5 star restaurants in the area. So much to chose from, and have never been disappointed. Something on the menu for even the pickiest eater. Fantastic for families.
Couldnt decide what I was in the mood for, so chose this spot since they had a large variety. Place was quite busy at 11:45am on a Sunday. They do a breakfast buffet as well as a breakfast menu.
After a brief wait, we were sat. Kind of a tight place, however we were sat by a window booth that was nice.
Server was quick to greet us and get our drinks. Coffee was just ok, my husband had a pretty tasty Bloody Mary, though. Food was quick to come out, I got the eggs Benedict and husband got a breakfast burrito. 1 of my eggs were over cooked, but the other 1 was good. Hollandaise sauce was a bit bland and hash browns needed more salt. Husband thought his food was a little bland too. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, as reviews at quite positive. We will try lunch or dinner next time. Food was still decent, but nothing that 'blew my socks off'.
The employees here were very nice and good at their jobs. Food was yummy and came quickly. They have breakfast all day. Our 4 kids all ate! They were occasionally loud and childlike, no one cared! It was awesome!
A hidden gem in Manassas! Friendly service, great food
We had lunch there the other day and it was great. They had a clean delicious salad bar. Nice menu with lots of different items. A hidden gem.
The food here is great! Don't let this little diner fool you, there is more than meets the eye. Service is friendly and efficient. The prices and serving sizes are a great value. This is truly a family restaurant in every sense of the word.
Again, I had a coupon in my Attractions book for this place so hit it again. I got the spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and my wife got the fish and chips. I had some problem getting the garlic bread as I want the bread to reek from garlic and I guess they are timid with the garlic. But what I got was enjoyable, the best spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread I've had since I got them trained at Mamma Lucia's in Rockville.
I also tried their Sunday brunch. It was VERY popular and we had a long wait to get seated. They had an omelet maker as well as numerous other items including eggs Benedict. Unfortunately the eggs Benedict had little hollendaise sauce and were often over cooked with semi-hard cooked eggs. Overall though a good brunch.
Our first time visiting, wow blew our socks off! My husband had the Hungry man Breakfast and I had the Cuban French toast so yummy! Service was outstanding too thank you Maria and staff for taking such good care of us! Highly recommended
Wonderful hidden gem.
Love the Sunday brunch. Includes an omelette station, fresh fruit, sweet plantains, eggs Benedict, other breakfast standards.
The staff is patient and pleasant. The pozole is delicious!
My boyfriend and I went here for a late lunch today. The food was awesome. I thought the service was nice. They weren't very busy. But it was Monday around 3pm. The ladies bathroom was really nice. I hope to come back with our friends!
This is a restaurant owned by a family, You can eat the food, but the family is far from edible. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TRY TO EAT THE FAMILY OR THE RESTAURANT AS THE BUILDING IS ALSO NOT FOOD. Excellent atmosphere, a bit casual but caters to all palets of taste and flavor. Excellent service and if your quite famished you should be pleased to know the food does come out suspiciously fast. A great American meal (of food, not the family) at a great price. I would recommend to anyone who wants to eat food (and i cannot stress this enough, NOT THE FAMILY OR BUILDING)
Local family run business that treats their customers well. It has a diverse menu and the food is pretty good. This place is always busy on the weekends so plan accordingly!
Drove from Clinton and the steak and eggs were great. Customer services was excellent!
The breakfast selection is very good. And the food there is always pretty good. But the soda there every time is flat. Every. Time.
The service is also pretty good. The alcohol selection is decent. But kinda basic. They have several Hispanic dishes as well. Lots of variety in their dishes. And plenty of options. Great French fries. Just very flat soda. For the years I've been going it's always flat. So just get water lol.
From the outside, this place looks fairly unremarkable, but inside, you will discover DELICIOUS fare! They have American items, but the truly tasty ones are the Italian, Greek, and Mexican items.
Styled in a diner fashion, the decor is fun to enjoy while awaiting food. The waitstaff is polite, knowledgeable, and welcoming. It's obvious that they enjoy their workplace, which I think really is indicative of owners who care about their staff as well as they do their customers. I love that.
My gluten intolerance dictates what I can eat, but I absolutely love the soups. On Mondays, they have a fabulous lemon chicken soup. My all-time favorite soup is on Wednesdays...the amazingly delicious cream of tomato soup! Seriously, I cannot get enough of this tomato soup.
Because I can't eat bread, I ordered some guacamole & tortilla chips. The guacamole is better than the one that the local Mexican restaurant serves! My husband loves the bread, which they serve with seasoned olive oil for dipping.
I recently had the grilled pork-chops, which were seasoned to perfection. The accompaniment was mixed vegetables, which had been sautéed in a rosemary infused olive oil. Delectable!
I typically get a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon here, but my husband recently discovered their signature beer. I think it was called the Ashton Lager, but they brew it themselves. I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband enjoyed two of them and was very impressed.
I'm looking forward to our next Wednesday visit, for that tomato soup!
I am a sucker for breakfast at a local diner! Great coffee and attentive service. The Cuban French toast was amazing. Delicious French toss with toast coconut and a side of plantains. My companions had the gyros omelet (looked great) and poached eggs -- also looked good though she said they had a slight vinegar taste. Maybe the water has too much in it. But overall a wonderful relaxed meal.
So this place is one of my go-to places for breakfast in Northern Virginia.
It's a little restaurant in a non-descript shopping center that looks kind of run down and lacks parking on busy Saturdays and Sundays, but those are honestly the only criticisms I have of this place.
I came here today (Sunday) and had the buffet. The food is great here. Every time I have been here, the food has been consistently good and the service, with a couple minor exceptions in the past, has been consistently good as well. The buffet normally consists of your normal breakfast foods that include not only an omelette bar, but home fries, bacon, eggs benedict, waffles, french toast, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit (normally just cantaloupe and strawberries), some pineapply-dessert type of thing in small cups, and pink and white marshmallows...kind of odd, but still good.
In any event, for being a hole-in-the-wall type of place, it's super clean, the staff is super friendly, and the food is excellent.
First time eating here, while visiting friends in the area. We all got the breakfast buffet & it was delicious! They have an omelet cook ready to make your favorite ingredients. He was kind and my omelet was very good! The bacon was crisp and not some rubbery bacon like some buffets. They even have fruit fondue table. The staff was very accommodating to our group of 10. On a Sunday morning. We'll be sure to stop back!
Rapidly becoming my go-to diner in Manassas.
This diner opened up about 15 years ago, when Mexico Lindo moved. I gave them about six months before they would go belly up. Here they are, 15+ years on, going strong. Really good for breakfast and lunch; good food, good service, good value. Dinner, not so much; not a really good date night place.
Ashton is a family favorite for a tasty Saturday breakfast and a phenomenal brunch on Sundays. The service is great and the food is, also. I've had lunch here a few times, but the breakfast menu is my favorite.
Update! I just tried the lasagna for lunch and it's phenomenal.... I wish I had room to eat more!
Friday night a week ago I was calling around all the major breakfast food chains (IHOP, Bob Evans, Denny's) on Sudley rd trying to reserve a large table for the following (Saturday) morning but none accepted reservations. I was organizing a 7th grade travel basketball team's breakfast which with parents was 16-18 people. I finally thought of Ashton Family Diner and gave them a ring. The gentleman who answered the phone was polite, professional and happy to reserve our table. I called early the next morning to confirm our reservation were indeed legit (i guess I was nervous someone would drop the ball). We had a 10:45am reservation Saturday morning which is obviously the busiest time for all diners. We walked in immediately to our tables ready and waiting for us.
Our server was fantastic! Not only did we have 18 people but we also had about 6-7 SEPERATE CHECKS; every servers worst nightmare. She did an amazing job not only being efficient with service but also organizing our checks! Not one hiccup with the checks.
The food was great. Everyone seemed to be happy, parents and tweens alike. Portions were large and no one left hungry. I personally had the Cuban French toast and it was AMAZING! Ashton family diner offers such a huge variety between American and Central American cuisine and everything in between it seems.
It felt great to support our community by dining at a privately owned restaurant versus corporate franchise. I highly recommend Ashton Family Diner for anyone and everyone. One of the parents even said this place might have to be our go to spot for team meals. It just might be! Thanks Ashton Family Diner!
I was here on a Saturday morning. The ample, brightly lit, and clean seating area was packed. It appeared that at least 1/2 the people were regulars. I don't mean the kind of regulars that had been there a few times, I mean the kind of regulars where the staff knew the patrons by name and knew enough about then to carry on conversations. An auspicious start, if ever there was one.
I ordered one of their weekend specials, the ABC omelet. That's a three-egg omelet with Avocado slices, Bacon, and swiss Cheese. It came with a side hash browns, home fries or grits (I substituted a side of sliced tomatoes), a portion of fruit, and either toast or pancakes. Everything was delicious with one personal exception. The coffee was excellent (and I'm a bit of a coffee snob).
The one non-delicious item was the pancake syrup. It was gooey, tasteless, brown-colored junk that was a disservice to anything it's poured on. If I think of it for my next visit I'll sneak in some real maple syrup or avoid ordering anything that would need it.
The service was great and the waitress was delightfully surly. She mentioned a Sunday brunch buffet and a Tuesday all-you-can-eat pasta special
I will definitely go back to this place the next time I'm out that way and recommend you do so as well.
I've been to this restaurant enough times and tried it dine in and take out. It's time to give my review. IT'S TERRIFIC!!! This is home cooked heaven. You walk in and smell like you're at home. You've got your locals and random customers. They all look at you to figure you out. Chat volume is good. It's always comfortable there. These folks go the extra mile to make your visit so welcoming. It's like being at a 5 star restaurant. There is a small salad bar and online pre-order menu which comes in handy when in a rush. The restroom is clean and stocked. Now about the food. That menu is massive!! I've tried at least 6 items from it and ALL were good and filling. I like when you order an item and it tastes like what it is supposed to. I was a slow frequenter, but now, I can't wait to get back to try everything on that menu. They have daily specials and I don't even want to miss a dish of the day. Parking is easy and ample. Seating is plentiful. it's a tad tight, but hey, it's family! If you want a place you can sit alone or with friends and get treated like family, this is it.
I've been coming here for years. Never get tired of the menu because it is so diverse. Owners and staff are fantastic people. Family friendly and very reasonably priced. Also great for a quick date-night meal for parents. Have even gone there for Thanksgiving one year. Brunch is great and Pasta Night is fabulous.
The Cuban French toast was out of this world delicious. Costa Rican tipico was amazing- everything was fresh and delicious- highly recommend.
Actually, we were referred here by a friend. I've been by this place a hundred times, just never stopped. Well, this is a "must-stop" from now on. Great place. Great service. Great food. Great prices. The menu has so many options that you be guaranteed to find something that you like. We did breakfast, but we'll be back to try lunch and dinner soon.
